Legendary singer, songwriter, musician, Stevie Wonder was born Steveland Hardaway Judkins, on May 13, 1950.

Little Stevie Wonder scored his first #1 hit, "Fingertips" (pt 2) at the age of 13. He did the vocals, played bongos and harmonica; Marvin Gaye played drums. In addition, this album became the first live recording to hit #1 on the charts. The remarkable achievement, youngest person to attain both these #1 positions still stands.

In 1989, Wonder was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. He was the youngest solo artist ever to achieve this prominent status.

On December 5, 1999 President Bill Clinton presented Wonder with the Kennedy Centers Honors award for 'lifetime contribution to arts and culture'. Wonder holds title of youngest-ever beneficiary of this prestigious award. He was 49 years old.

Wonder earned the Royal Swedish Academy of Music Award, "Polar Music Prize" that same year for a jazz instrumental album. Interestingly, he recorded it under the pseudonym – Eivets Rednow – which is Stevie Wonder spelled backward!
